When we sat down with Steven for a beer in Benson, he was happy to meet us. After a couple of months of back and forth about the design of the 2017 logo, we were happy to see the project completed. This part of planning Wordcamp Omaha is arguably the most challenging part of the process. From finding and choosing a designer, to trying to bring a fresh and elegant design to the event – well let’s just say it’s harder than most realize.
Lucky for us, we found a very patient designer that was willing to go through 5 rounds of renditions for us before we settled on a final candidate. With that said, it didn’t come as a surprise to us when we found out that Steven actually used to be a tattoo artist (thus the patience). With this also comes a certain level of perseverance, as he is completely self-employed through his company, Buffalo Built Design Co., realizing his dream to make a living being a graphic artist.
Steven was attracted to Wordcamp Omaha through his wife who attended our 2016 Wordcamp. Connections like this are exactly what the Omaha WordPress community is all about!
